Scholarship Application

Grayson RECC is offering scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to continue their education beyond high school in an accredited college, or technical school. 

Scholarship winners will be selected by the Scholarship Committee from employees of neighboring Co-ops. Applications will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Transcripts and SAT/ACT scores
  • School, community and employment activities, awards and accomplishments
  • 250 - 500 word essay on "What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?"
  • One letter of recommendation
  • Discussion questions on ways to conserve energy and the benefits

 

Please complete this application form and include all the information requested below.  Mailed applications should be sent to Kim Bush, Executive Assistant, Grayson RECC, 109 Bagby Park, Grayson, KY 4143. Applications must be submitted on or before February 14, 2020. Application received after February 14, 2020, will not be considered.

When returning this application, please include the following:

  • Copy of high school transcripts (with current grade point average)
  • Copy of SAT/ACT test scores.
  • Summary page of your school, group, club, community and employment activities, awards and accomplishments.
  • 250 - 500 word essay on your future plans and how these plans will allow you to serve in your community.
  • One letter of recommendation

Scholarship winners will be asked to attend a luncheon to meet the Manager and CEO, Board of Directors and Employees of Grayson RECC.

To qualify I am aware that I must be an active member or a dependent of an active member of Grayson RECC and a permanent resident in Grayson RECC's service area. I declare that the accompanying essay and this application are solely my own work product.

I am aware that if I am awarded a scholarship, I must provide Grayson RECC with proof of full-time (at least 12 hours) enrollment from a recognized institute of higher education and the funds will be paid directly to that institute.

I agree to permit the review of this application by anyone representing Grayson RECC or its appointed Scholarship Review Committee and, if selected as a winner, to having my name used in promotions related to the scholarship award. I am also aware that applications that do not follow the directions, late applications (deadline to arrive at Grayson RECC is February 12, 2015), or incomplete applications will not be considered.
